Everton target Bundesliga star to replace Baines

Everton are targeting Bayer Leverkusen left-back Wendell as a Leighton Baines replacement, according to Sky Sports News.

The Brazilian made 30 appearances in all competitions for the Bundesliga and is being looked as a potential new left back to replace Leighton Baines at Goodison Park.

The left-back is highly rated in Germany and has been touted with many moves to top European sides.

Wendell has made over 100 appearances for Leverkusen since moving to Germany in 2014 from Gremio in Brazil. He was called up to the national side in October 2016 but failed to get his first cap for Brazil.

Sky Sports also reported that Everton are looking at Marvin Plattenhardt, who is currently with Germany in Russia as part of their World Cup campaign.

Plattenhardt is also being looked at by Leicester City, who have made enquiries about the German, who plays his football for Hertha Berlin in the Bundesliga.
