Everton are reportedly keen for Romelu Lukaku to sign for Manchester United if he does leave this summer, as they would like to see Sergio Romero and Chris Smalling come the other way.
According to a report from the Independent, the Belgium striker is in favour of a move back to Chelsea and it’s looking likely that this transfer will happen. However, the Toffees would clearly prefer it if Lukaku made the move to Old Trafford as they look to receive more than just a hefty price tag for his signature.
Chelsea appear to be keen on landing Lukaku for a fee of around £80m at the very most, meaning that Everton would have to reduce their reported valuation of the striker by £20m.
Romero and Smalling are very much backup players for Jose Mourinho at Manchester United and it would not be a surprise to see them leave this summer.
This has prompted Everton to weigh up a move that demands the duo in exchange, it seems.
