Everton tipped to sign James Rodriguez in stunning €50m deal

Everton are being tipped to complete a stunning €50 million deal to sign James Rodriguez from Real Madrid.

According to El Desmarque, as cited on Sport Witness, Carlo Ancelotti has made it clear that Rodriguez is his primary target after taking over at Goodison Park.

Rodriguez has been a favourite of Ancelotti for some time now, having worked with him at Real Madrid and Bayern Munich – he even tried to sign the player for Napoli.

In what would be a major coup for the Toffees, it is claimed that ‘everything indicates the player will sign for Everton.’

Well this would be quite something.

Following Carlo Ancelotti’s appointment at Goodison Park, a host of big names have been linked with moves to Merseyside, but Rodriguez is right up there with the biggest so far.

Given his close history with Ancelotti, this is one rumour that fans may have seen coming.

While it may seem like a completely wild idea for Rodriguez to join Everton, there are certainly some factors that actually make a deal seem somewhat logical. He is a player out of favour at Real Madrid and looks set for a move away.

Under Ancelotti, he’d be working under a manager who he clearly favours and understands.

To convince a manager like Ancelotti to join Everton, he would’ve had to have been promised ambition and signings and this would be a deal that ticks both boxes.
