Everton will hold talks with Fabian Delph following a social media spat with a fan that has done the rounds online, according to the Liverpool Echo.
The England international was embroiled in the situation over Instagram with a fan following Everton’s humiliating 1-0 loss to Liverpool in the FA Cup on Sunday.
The Toffees intend on dealing with the issue internally as they look to first establish the validity of the screenshots, before attempt to understand what transpired.

The exchange was just one incident involving disgruntled fans on Sunday, with the Times also reporting that Marcel Brands was forced to speak to a group of angry supporters, who had arrived at Finch Farm on Monday to confront the players.
Everton will now communicate with Delph in order to understand the situation fully.

This situation isn’t good for the club, and it is everything that Everton don’t need right now. Emotions are running high among the players and the fans alike, and a confrontation of this degree doesn’t improve anything.
Delph’s comments aren’t acceptable, and they again highlight how big a disconnect there is between the players and the fans. However, the fan in question hasn’t helped matters either, by provoking a player and then spreading screenshots online. No matter how poor the performance, jumping into a players DMs to slate them isn’t necessary.
Everton will want to move past this situation as soon as possible, and with both this and the fact that several players criticised Ancelotti’s tactics on Sunday, it will be interesting to see who lines up for the Blues against Brighton this weekend.
