Everton could look to offer Juventus a “very expensive loan” deal for Adrien Rabiot in January, although the Serie A giants aren’t keen on letting him go.
Yesterday we covered the story that claimed that Everton were particularly keen on the France international, who has struggled for consistency in Turin since joining on a free transfer in the summer.
Carlo Ancelotti is looking to make his mark on the Everton squad that he inherited last month, and with the Toffees desperate for midfield reinforcements, his former player Rabiot has emerged as a prime candidate.

Calciomercato (via Sport Witness) have now expanded on Everton’s reported interest, claiming that the Ancelotti specifically made a request to the club’s board, asking them to pursue the 24-year old.
The report claims that Everton’s plan of action is to offer Juventus a “very expensive loan” with the option to purchase, although Juventus cheif Fabio Paratici would rather keep the midfielder.
Calciomercato again report that Juventus are more keen to shift Emre Can, and that they would need to receive a ‘precise and strong request’ from Rabiot to change their stance on his future.

With Rabiot set to receive more game time over the coming months, and with the Frenchman almost certain to miss out on the European Championship and so having no reason to leave Juve for immediate minutes, it does seem as though Rabiot will stay put.
Everton could try to tempt him still, and it is covered in Calciomercato’s report that Ancelotti is a father-type figure for Rabiot having handed him his debut for PSG, but I would be surprised if that is enough to tempt him.
I can only admire Everton and Ancelotti’s ambition in targeting the bigger players, but I don’t see the club having much of a chance at landing Rabiot.
