Everton to up their efforts to land Pedro Delgado

Everton are reportedly set to advance in their efforts to sign Sporting CP youngster Pedro Delgado this summer.

The Toffees are believed to have identified the promising midfielder as an attainable target ahead of next season having been impressed with the player at youth level.

Delgado is claimed by the Mirror to be keen on making the switch from his homeland of Portugal to the Premier League, with Everton emerging as potential suitors.

The 21-year-old is currently at Sporting CP for the second time in his short career so far. He emerged through the Liga NOS side’s youth ranks before being snapped up by Serie A giants Inter Milan.

After struggling to make his mark in Italy, Delgado returned to Sporting on a free transfer in 2016 and established himself as an important player in the club’s secondary side.

Delgado, who is also a full international for Portugal’s Under-21 side, is the subject of interest from Serie A clubs still. However, Everton appear to be the frontrunners in the race for his signature.
