Everton have turned their attention to West Ham and Chelsea target Jamaal Lascelles in their pursuit of a new central defender.
Ed Aarons of The Guardian reports that the Toffees are interested in signing the former Nottingham Forest star.
Lascelles was one of Newcastle’s star performers last season and has already attracted interest from some of the Premier League big boys.
Chelsea have been heavily linked with a move for Lascelles in the past having been impressed with the leadership qualities he has shown at Newcastle.
West Ham have also reportedly had bids turned down for the player.

Many were considering the defender unfortunate to miss out on a place in Gareth Southgate’s World Cup squad.
Rafa Benitez has already expressed his desire to keep Lascelles at the club and build the team around him.
However, the Spaniard will also be well aware that selling the defender could bring in funds to help him strengthen elsewhere during the latter stages of the summer transfer window.
