Everton watched Nicolo Barella in Cagliari clash

Everton had scouts in attendance for Cagliari’s stalemate against Sampdoria on Wednesday night and according to a report from Corriere dello Sport, as translated by Sport Witness, they were watching Nicolo Barella in action.

The promising midfielder has been linked with a number of clubs in recent times as he continues to impress for Cagliari in Serie A.

Barella has established himself as a vital cog in his side’s first-team and it’s believed that Cagliari remain desperate to retain the services of their impressive midfield man.

However, interest from elsewhere appears to be building, with reports from Italy indicating that Everton have joined the race to secure his signature.

The Toffees, like several other top-flight clubs, reportedly sent scouts to observe Cagliari’s 0-0 draw with Sampdoria in Serie A, with a host of talented players on show.

Barella was unable to bear a huge influence on the match, with his side left frustrated by a goalless draw, but his performances so far this season have evidently caught the eye.
