Everton watched Sala in Nantes’ win on Wednesday

Everton reportedly had scouts keeping a close eye on Emiliano Sala in Nantes’ win against Marseille on Wednesday evening.

According to a report from the Daily Mail, a host of clubs from the Premier League are monitoring the progress of the forward, who has impressed in Ligue 1 this season.

The Toffees have been linked with a move for a new striker ahead of the January transfer window, with Sala among the names mentioned as potential targets.

He netted for the 13th time in the French top-flight this season on Wednesday and also chipped in with an assist as Nantes were able to get the better of Marseille in a dramatic 3-2 victory.

The 28-year-old striker is set to be highly sought after when the transfer window opens at the turn of the year.

However, if suitors such as Everton are to lure him away from Nantes, it is reported that they will need to cough up a fee of £25 million.
