Everton youngster sent back to club after falling out

Everton youngster Boris Mathis has had his loan at League One Northampton cut short after falling out of favor with the Town assistant manager, Dean Austin according to the Liverpool Echo.

As a result he has now been sent back to the Toffees and played in the club’s under-23 loss at the hands of West Ham United.

He is one of three players to have been let go by the League One club as they look to shake things up.

His game time at the club was severely limited, playing five times across all competitions with two of these coming from the start which highlights how out of favour he was at the club.

The 20-year-old was signed by Everton from Metz in the summer on a two-year deal and was playing in the under 23’s for the first half of the season before being loaned out to the Cobblers.

Austin spoke about the situation around the player:

I understand what the fans want.

They pay their money and if they are not happy with what they are seeing they will let you know.

I want to pick a team of players who are proud to have the badge on their shirt, players who wear that shirt with pride.

That is not just on a matchday, but through the week as well.
