Everton’s summer business under David Moyes and the Friedkin Group is well underway. Here’s every confirmed signing, advanced deal, live target and departure in one place.
✅ Confirmed
Hayden Hackney — Middlesbrough, midfielder
Signed for an initial £16.5m rising to around £25m with add-ons. The Championship Player of the Season arrives as a progressive, deep-lying midfielder rather than a direct like-for-like replacement for Idrissa Gueye. Full story
Arthur Barratt — Chelsea, midfielder (academy)
16-year-old signed on a permanent deal from Chelsea’s Cobham academy, seen as a long-term development prospect rather than an immediate first-team addition. Full story
Merlin Röhl’s loan made permanent
Confirmed alongside the Hackney and Keita business, adding a further central midfield option once fit.
🟡 Advanced / Agreement Reported
Tyrique George — Chelsea, winger
Everton and Chelsea are reported to have reached an agreement on a permanent deal worth in excess of £20m, having initially let their £25m loan option lapse before reopening talks. Personal terms understood to be the final step.
Jack Grealish — Manchester City, permanent/loan
Everton have not triggered their £50m option to sign Grealish permanently after his season-ending foot injury, but are described as “confident” of retaining him either via a second loan or a reduced permanent fee. Talks expected to intensify.
🔴 Departures
Idrissa Gana Gueye — contract expired
Out of contract since 30 June. Everton’s public statements remain non-committal, but growing signals — including reports around his family’s living arrangements — point toward this being the end of his second spell at the club.
Reece Welch — released
Left on the expiry of his contract; reported to be trialling with Danish side Lyngby.
Tim Iroegbunam — linked with a move away
No bid confirmed, but Bundesliga interest from Dortmund and Stuttgart has been reported. Everton have so far resisted approaches; his exit would leave a gap at the base of midfield given his defensive profile.
🔵 Live Targets — Midfield
Mandela Keita (Parma, £21–25m) — Talks opened with Parma and his representatives; Atalanta also in talks, and Everton reportedly need a staggered payment plan to meet the asking price.
Richard Rios (Benfica, £87m release clause) — Admired rather than actively pursued; widely expected to prefer a move to Napoli for Champions League football.
🔵 Live Targets — Right-Back
Everton’s most crowded position. Aaron Wan-Bissaka (West Ham, relegation-reduced price) is understood to be the most advanced target, with Moyes’ prior relationship with him seen as an advantage. Raoul Bellanova (Atalanta, ~€20m), Rico Lewis (Manchester City, ~£35m asking price), Djed Spence and Guéla Doué (Strasbourg) remain under consideration behind him.
🔵 Live Targets — Attack
Jarrod Bowen (West Ham) — Reported to have made his willingness to join known to Moyes directly, contingent on Everton making a formal approach. Any deal likely tied to funding from elsewhere in the squad.
Karl Darlow (free agent, ex-Leeds) — Everton in the mix alongside Manchester United for the free-agent goalkeeper as cover for Jordan Pickford.
Liam Delap (Chelsea) — Reported to be a leading contender for the striker after his difficult debut season at Stamford Bridge, with Chelsea’s valuation said to have dropped from around £40m toward £30m.
Ricardo Pepi (PSV) and El Bilal Touré (Atalanta) — Both monitored as striker options, though neither is currently advanced.
🟠 Contract Situations to Watch
Iliman Ndiaye — Contract talks stalled; Yakubu has publicly urged the club to tie him down. Reports link a possible sale to Manchester City interest worth up to £69m, which some reports connect to funding a Bowen deal.
