Everton would be a good move for Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain this summer, claims former Everton striker Marcus Bent.
Following a turbulent time with Liverpool, central midfielder Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain has been linked with a move away from Anfield this summer.
Having had a career plagued with injury, the Ox could well be looking to revive his form elsewhere.
After signing for £35million from Arsenal back in 2017 he has featured 105 times, scoring 14 goals and producing 11 assists.
The 28-year-old has shown glimpses of brilliance and could be a great signing for Liverpool’s Merseyside counterparts in this window, despite him currently playing for their rivals.
On this matter, Marcus Bent exclusively told Read Everton that: “I think as long as you come in and show that you’re willing and show that you’ve got a passion about the game, I think the club will take you with open arms.
“I don’t think he’ll get any bigger than Everton to be honest with you, off the back of the last couple of seasons that he’s had. So that will probably be a good move for him, whether or not it’ll work out who knows.”
Everton could do with some reinforcements in midfield following continuing reports that playmaker James Rodriguez could depart the club before the transfer window slams shut.
Chamberlain’s contract doesn’t expire until 2023, but the opportunity to play regularly while he is still in his prime could prove tempting enough for him to leap across the river to Liverpool’s rivals.
