Former Everton defender Michael Ball, who spent five years at Goodison Park, says Alex Iwobi must start making a name for himself.
The 25-year-old signed from Arsenal for £28million in 2019, but has yet to become a household name in Merseyside since his arrival.
The Nigerian international has featured for Everton 66 times in two years but has only scored four goals and produced five assists.
Everton have also purchased two more wingers this season, Demerai Gray and Andros Townsend, which only adds competition for Iwobi for a first-team spot.
On the matter, Michael Ball exclusively told Read Everton: “With Iwobi, he’s got to have that attitude now to come to the football club and start making a name for himself.
“He was a young kid at Arsenal who done pretty well and he got the move to Everton, and he just hasn’t really kicked into form. You know he’s played one or two good games here and there but consistency is all we are looking for.”
During Everton’s 3-1 win over Southampton on the opening weekend, Iwobi came off the bench and grabbed an assist for himself.
At 25, there is plenty of room for growth for the youngster. He still has three years left on his Goodison Park contract, which gives him the opportunity to continue to improve as a player for the Toffees.
