Everton have confirmed that a technical glitch was responsible for Thursday’s “leaked” team announcement on Twitter.
Several fans had been shocked yesterday to see the club tweet their team sheet for Sunday’s game against Bournemouth a few days too early.
In place of the usual informative text about changes, the caption simply read “5 changes blah”, while fans also took umbrage with the line-up specifically, with Morgan Schneiderlin partnering Fabian Delph in midfield, leaving Andre Gomes on the bench.

When questioned about the tweet, Everton replied saying, “Purely a technical issue while testing our graphics platform. No early team news here!”

Many Everton fans didn’t believe the club however, while it will now be interesting to see how the club line up on Sunday.

I can buy that it was a technical glitch, sure. The club were likely trying out something and accidentally hit tweet, it can happen.
At least I hope so, because even though I’m a bit of a defender when it comes to Morgan Schneiderlin, I don’t see any sense of starting him over Andre Gomes, particularly when playing away. We could do with that creative spark, and Andre definitely brings that while Morgan does not.
