Everton fans have praised Marco Silva for his classy statement following his sacking.
The Portuguese coach was removed from his position as manager of the Blues on Thursday evening, with Duncan Ferguson replacing him in a caretaker role.
The former Watford boss had been with Everton for 18-months but his position became untenable after the club sunk into the bottom three following their third consecutive Premier League loss.
Not many fans celebrated when Everton broke the news that Silva had been sacked, as many view him as a nice guy who just didn’t work out in the end, which does tinge the situation with sadness.
In a statement released on Twitter, Silva thanked his fellow staff, the Everton squad and the fan base for supporting him during his time on Merseyside, claiming he felt “at home” with Everton.
Responding on social media, a number of Everton fans offered their well wishes to the departing manager following his classy and professional statement.

Read Everton Verdict
It really is a shame that things didn’t work out for Marco Silva, because he seemed good intentioned unlike Sam Allardyce he didn’t blatantly spit in the face of the fans.
He cared about the club and the way in which the fans perceive the fans, but his tactical nous just wasn’t up to scratch.
