Fenerbahce are interested in signing Oumar Niasse in the January transfer window, according to reports.
The Senegal international began the season as surplus to requirements under Marco Silva, having fallen down the pecking order at Goodison Park.
Despite finding himself back in the squad under Duncan Ferguson, and even coming off the bench against Manchester United, it is still expected that he will leave the club soon.
According to Takvim (via Sport Witness), Fenerbahce are preparing an offer to bring the 29-year old striker back to Turkey, with the forward having previously played for Akhisar Belediyespor in the Super Lig.

Sporting director Damien Comolli is said to have opened talks with the forward’s representatives over a potential move, with the response from Niasse’s camp coming back positive.
Fenerbahce will move on several of their fringe players in January and the funds raised will be spent on bringing the striker to Istanbul.
Niasse’s contract expires at the end of the season, and with Everton have spent £13.5million on the forward, they will be keen to recoup at least some of that in January.

It wouldn’t surprise me one bit if Niasse is still an Everton player by the end of the transfer window, where he would then end up being released at the end of his contract.
Niasse is one of the last vestiges of an era of overspending at Everton that will hopefully be put in the past now that Carlo Ancelotti and Marcel Brands have teamed up, where sensible spending on competent recruits will be paramount to the club’s success.
Niasse did more for Everton than I ever thought he would going on his first few months on Merseyside, but realistically he couldn’t and doesn’t offer anything else now going forward.
