Ramiro Funes Mori has experienced a rather varied 13 months on Merseyside since signing for Everton last summer.
Joining for £9.5 million from River Plate in his native Argentina, Funes Mori began his inaugural season in the Premier League as the third choice centre-half, behind Phil Jagielka and John Stones.
The Argentine found himself in the team much more than anticipated last season, due to the unexpected poor form of Stones and the frequent injury problems that plagued Jagielka, where he played 37 games in all competitions, scoring 5 goals.
However, this season Funes Mori has fallen behind new signing Ashley Williams in the pecking order, not starting a league game since Williams was deemed match fit, and has begun to question his long-term future at Goodison Park. With this in mind, I look at five players who could potentially replace Funes Mori as Everton‘s third centre-half, should he seek pastures anew.
