Former Everton physio Mick Rathbone to rejoin club

Hugely popular former Everton physio Mick Rathbone is rejoining the club and will work with the club’s Youth Academy, according to a report on the Liverpool Echo.

Rathbone used to be the first team physio for the Toffees and was much loved by the players and fans.

The 60-year-old will team up with Academy boss David Unsworth. Rathbone first joined the Merseyside club in 2002 with David Moyes and spent eight very successful years at the club.

Rathbone has since worked with The Football Association for England’s under-17s, Wigan Athletic and most recently, Nottingham Forest.

The former Preston North End fullback is the second high profile person to return to the physiotherapy department for Everton, with Danny Donachie returning in the summer after three years away from the club.
