Sam Allardyce says he is unsure if the club will make a permanent move for Eliaquim Mangala this summer.
Speaking to the Liverpool Echo, Allardyce did not sound too convinced when he was quizzed about the Frenchman’s chances.
It’s difficult to say and it’s difficult to tell. Had he not suffered the injury he suffered so soon I would be in a very good position to say yes or no now because he would’ve played a lot more and we would’ve seen what he would have brought to the team and with him being a natural left footer.

The defender joined on loan from Manchester City during the January transfer window but has struggled with injuries.
Mangala had fallen out of favour under Pep Guardiola and looks set to leave the Premier League champions this summer.
He made his debut for the Toffees back in February against Arsenal but was forced off with an injury in his next match against Crystal Palace and has not played since.
Everton face a big summer of change at Goodison Park, with questions about Allardyce’s future remaining up in the air.
Reports have suggested that a squad overhaul could be on the cards after a disappointing season in the Premier League.
