Steven Gerrard has revealed his admiration for Everton youngster Kieran Dowell, amid increasing links to Rangers.
As reported by the Liverpool Echo, Gerrard talked up a potential move to Scotland for the player when he was quizzed on links to the England youth international.
Dowell has emerged as a potential loan target for Rangers in January and as much as Gerrard tried to distance himself from the rumours, he could not help but heap praise on the player.
I definitely admire Kieran and I’ve watched a lot of him. He’s an Everton player so I can’t say anything else on him at the moment – but he’s certainly one I admire.
The youngster is widely expected to leave Everton on loan once the January transfer window opens in a few week’s time.
Dowell had been tipped to break into the Everton squad this season under Marco Silva, but that has not been the case.
He has made just two appearances for Everton this season and both of which came in the League Cup.
