Gomes set to miss further three weeks

Everton midfielder Andre Gomes has suffered a setback in his recovery from a hamstring injury and is set for three weeks out.

Liverpool Echo journalist Phil Kirkbride says that Everton have confirmed the news.

They have also confirmed that Idrissa Gueye has a knee injury and that Bernard and Jagielka are suffering from knocks.

Everton say that Phil Jagielka will also be out of action for three weeks, having not played since his red card against Wolves.

Gomes joined Everton from Barcelona on a season-long loan deal on deadline day earlier this month.

The Portuguese international is yet to make his debut for the club and could now have to wait until October to do so.
