Grading Everton’s summer signings

We’re now seven games into the Premier League season, where Everton find themselves in 5th place with the second best defensive record, and a lot stronger than in previous campaigns.

The early departure of John Stones was always likely, even more so with the lure of Pep Guardiola, which also meant more financial flexibility along with Farhad Moshiri’s money.

However, big money wasn’t spent, with the club almost breaking even with a big £47.5millon incoming from Stones’ sale.

The summer saw change, not only from a staff point-of-view but also seeing a number of players leave. Tony Hibbert, Tim Howard, Leon Osman and Steven Pienaar all departed the club who amassed over 1,150 league appearances between them.

It is still early on in the season, and some have played more than others, but it’s good to see who’s impressing so far and who has work to do – a lot in one man’s case.

So, here are my grades for Ronald Koeman’s signings during his first summer on Merseyside, from A* down to F.
