Everton manager Ronald Koeman is adamant that Gareth Barry will not be sold this summer, according to the Daily Mail’s Dominic King.

West Brom had been heavily linked with a move for the former Aston Villa man, with Tony Pulis looking to fill the void left by the departure of Darren Fletcher to Stoke.

Barry was in and out of the Everton team last term but clearly remains a key player for Koeman as he sees his side kick off their 2017/18 campaign in the Europa League this evening.
Although it’s unlikely that Barry will be a consistent feature in Everton’s starting line-up, his experience and big-game know-how are sure to be valuable.
Koeman is likely to favour players such as Morgan Schneiderlin and Idrissa Gueye in sitting roles.
