Lincoln City v Everton: Four Findings

Everton battled it out away at Lincoln City on Tuesday night emerging as 4-2 winners in an enthralling game, guaranteeing themselves a tie away to Sheffield Wednesday in the third round of the Carabao Cup.

Just a mere 20 seconds into the game, the Toffees were stunned and found themselves trailing to a well worked goal by the League One outfit.

Lucas Digne equalised around the half hour mark, stepping up and striking a tremendous free-kick that can only be described as world class.

Everton gained confidence from Digne’s stroke of genius, going on to dominate the play from there on in, and the Blues secured their second on the hour mark. Morgan Schneiderlin was brought down by a dangling leg inside the penalty box, and Gylfi Sigurdsson smartly finished to put his name on the scoresheet.

Bruno Andrade equalised soon after, coming out of nowhere to emphatically volley the ball past England’s No.1 after a poor defensive header from Michael Keane dropped to him on the edge of the penalty area.

Alex Iwobi and Richarlison both scored their first goals of the season to round off a good win for the Toffees that proved hard than it needed to be.

With plenty of positives to take from the game, here are four findings from Wednesday night’s meeting at Sincil Bank.
