Liverpool to have Robertson and Salah fit to face Everton

Injury-related news hasn’t exactly been kind to Everton in recent weeks and this latest update isn’t the best news for the Blues either.

Thankfully for Carlo Ancelotti, this news doesn’t relate to another Everton star picking up an injury, instead, it relates to their opponents for their game this weekend.

According to Dom King of the Mail, Liverpool should have Andrew Robertson and Mohamed Salah fit for selection when they make the trip to Goodison Park on Sunday as the duo have both returned to full training.

The pair both missed Liverpool’s training game against Blackburn Rovers at Anfield last week as precautions but the duo both took part in an intra-squad game which took place at the same stadium at the weekend.

Given that we don’t know how fit Liverpool’s players are going to be on the whole in the first game back, the fact that they’ll have two of their guaranteed starters ready to play is hardly ideal for Everton.

The new rule of allowing five substitutes means that the Reds will have a clear advantage if they do have a fully fit squad, because the Blues will definitely not have such a luxury due to their own injury worries as Yerry Mina, Jean-Philippe Gbamin and Theo Walcott will all miss the game, whilst there are doubts over Fabian Delph and Andre Gomes too.

matchday.
