Real Madrid goalkeeper Keylor Navas has reportedly reached an agreement with Paris Saint-Germain over a summer transfer, paving the way for the Spaniard’s to move for Maarten Stekelenburg.
Earlier this week it was reported that Everton’s third-choice goalkeeper was an option for Real Madrid, with their second-choice ‘keeper Navas wanting to leave the Bernabeu.
The former Netherlands international was one of a number of targets who could replace the Costa Rican, should he find an exit deal that suited Madrid.

Navas played prominently as Madrid’s first-choice between the sticks in three of the last four seasons, with last summer’s marquee signing Thibaut Courtois largely edging him out during the previous campaign.
Now, according to The Nacion (via French journalist Romain Collet-Gaudin on Twitter), Navas has reached an agreement with PSG and will have his medical with the club on Thursday.
Whether Stekelenburg is the club’s main target or not, it is unclear, but if Madrid want the move to go ahead then they could shortly look to make contact with the Toffees, who already have Jordan Pickford and Jonas Lossl in the first team this season.

Honestly this whole situation blows my mind. I’m not a big fan of Stekelenburg, and I think that other than that game against Manchester City, the former Southampton man was too often unreliable.
If he gets the move to the Spanish capital, fair play to him, but I don’t think it’ll bother Everton at all to see him leave. With Lossl coming in this summer, the chance that Stekelenburg would get to play has dropped from unlikely to not a chance.
