Marco Silva confirms key man has an ‘issue’ ahead of Palace game

Marco Silva took to the stand this afternoon to preview his side’s clash with Crystal Palace on Sunday.

The Toffees take on the Eagles at Goodison at 4pm, a game they’ll be hopeful of taking all three points from.

Silva had some bad news regarding injuries, however, as he confirmed Idrissa Gana Gueye has an ‘issue’ and is a doubt for the game.

Whilst Silva revealed there’s a problem, he didn’t fully rule out the midfielder from action, instead choosing to wait until closer to the time.

It’s a blow for Everton who would ideally like a full strength squad at this crucial stage of the campaign.

There was more positive news, however, regarding the fitness of some other players.

The gaffer declared it a possibility that Andre Gomes, Yerry Mina and James McCarthy could all play a part this weekend.

Fans have eagerly anticipated seeing both Gomes and Mina since they joined the Blues in the summer – and they may now get their wish.

Despite the potential loss of Gueye, Silva will be delighted to have more squad options with the return of the other three.
