Marco Silva discusses trio’s future and Batshuayi move

Marco Silva has discussed the futures of several Everton players, as well as a potential move for Michy Batshuayi.

It could still be a busy month at Goodison Park, both in terms of incomings and outgoings.

Somebody who Silva told the Liverpool Echo could leave is striker Oumar Niasse, with Cardiff City keen on acquiring his signature on loan:

There is strong interest from Cardiff in Oumar Niasse but nothing is done yet. We have to wait and see.

What I can tell you is nothing is done, but the interest is strong. Something could happen but until it is done there is nothing more to say.

Phil Jagielka and Morgan Schneiderlin have also been linked with moves away this month, but Silva has rubbished those claims, saying they remain important figures moving forward:

Their future? It’s here with me. Working hard like they are. Not Jagielka now because he is injured.

If you remember Jagielka started the first game in our starting XI, Morgan Schneiderlin also started the first games in our starting XI.

After that it is a matter of performances and matter of decisions I make for the next match but their future will be here with us working hard to play again and to help our squad win matches.

Finally, the Blues boss gave his thoughts on a rumoured loan move for Chelsea striker Batshuayi, whose disappointing spell at Valencia has been cut short.

He was cagey about any possible interest, instead focusing on the players at his disposal for the time being.

It’s not the moment for us to talk about player a, b, c or d or if they could interest us in our model as a team.

We have to work with the players we have here and get them better every day. That is our job.

Silva’s men head to Southampton in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon, as they look to kick on and return to form in the second-half of the season.

matchday.
