Jose Mourinho and Roberto Martinez were involved in an argument at Goodison Park, according to the Daily Mail.
Mourinho has been under the microscope due to his team’s poor performances in recent weeks, and his frustration got the better of him as he swore at Martinez after Everton’s 3-1 win over his struggling Chelsea.
The incident happened on a concourse at Goodison Park after Everton boss Martinez had just conducted his post-match press conference.
As the Catalonian was talking to the national press, Mourinho stormed straight up to Martinez and unleashed his anger:
‘Roberto, next time you tell me (to) go before you, because we have to travel.’ said Mourinho, who ignored the advice from a steward to walk to another location to conduct his press conference.
The Portuguese manager was eager to leave Goodison Park after Martinez’s Everton piled more misery onto the Premier League Champions, but his abrupt remark was met by a typical, measured response from his Spanish counterpart:
‘We don’t control that, Jose. I don’t control that.’ replied Martinez, who was undoubtedly in a much happier frame of mind.
‘F****** hell!’ was Mourinho’s retort.
Martinez didn’t lose his cool, and laughed it off: “When he beat us 6-3 he was such a nice man, I prefer him like that!”
A lack of class from the kingpin of Chelsea? Makes a change.
