Milan withdraw interest in Everton’s midfield target this summer

Everton have been handed a boost in their pursuit of Ki Sung-yueng, with AC Milan reportedly pulling out of the race to sign him.

In recent times, the Toffees have been touted as a potential destination for the South Korean international, whose contract at Swansea City expires in the summer.

However, Milan were understood to be hugely keen on landing the experienced midfielder, who has been a key component of the Swansea side in recent seasons.

Despite these claims, though, Calciomercato exclusively report that Ki will not be signing for Gennaro Gattuso’s side in the summer, with the Serie A giants having pulled out of the race.

It’s claimed that an agreement had been reached in principle between Ki’s representatives and the top brass at San Siro. However, as Milan aim to comply with Financial Fair Play regulations, they have decided to walk away from their impending deal.

Everton are looking to bolster their options in the midfield ahead of next season and it seems Ki is a genuine target for the club.
