Mirallas likely to leave – Good move by Everton?

Kevin Mirallas is keen on a return to Belgium this summer and is likely to be sold, presuming a club decide to match Everton’s asking price.

The Belgium international was a regular member of Everton’s first-team for five seasons before falling out of favour during the 17/18 season, where he joined Olympiakos in January 2018.

The 31-year old spent last season on loan with Fiorentina in Italy’s Serie A, and although he played frequently for La Viola, he failed to impress enough to earn a permanent transfer.

Now back at Everton, Mirallas is far down the pecking order for the Toffees are there is almost certainly no way for him to earn his place back in the first-team squad.

Voetbal24 report that Mirallas was offered to the bigger Belgian clubs at the beginning of the transfer window, but no-one was interested in signing the forward at that time.

However, with the transfer window going long and teams getting more desperate for signings, not to mention Everton’s likelihood of reducing the price in order to be rid of the big wage earner, the report believes a move is likely to happen before the window closes.

While his destination is unknown, there are a number of clubs in Belgium who would likely welcome the opportunity to sign the wide-man.

There isn’t much to say regarding Kevin Mirallas that hasn’t already been said. A player with amazing talent and a poor attitude that more often than not didn’t mix well, Mirallas is one of the biggest wastes of potential the club have had in some time.

Mirallas certainly doesn’t have any hope of featuring for Everton this season, his appearances in pre-season as right-back cover while we waited for Djibril Sidibe signalled that. Silva has no intention of using the winger, and it would be best for everyone if a new club is found for him as soon as possible.
