David Moyes has been left in the dark over his possible future with Everton as the club ponder their next move, according to reports.
The former Toffees boss had emerged as an option for the Blues early into their managerial hunt, having sacked Marco Silva earlier this month.
Moyes’ potential return to Goodison Park was met with much negativity from many Everton fans online, and although the board seemed set on him for a time, they later changed their minds.

The Scotsman had demanded a long-term deal instead of a short-term fixer contract when Everton contacted him earlier this month, and while some members of the board are still said to be keen, other members have decided against bringing the former Manchester United boss back to Merseyside.
However, Express Sport report that Moyes hasn’t been made aware of the fact that the club’s stance has changed, and he has been left in the dark over where his future could lie.
Unai Emery and Carlo Ancelotti have both burst onto the scene as potential alternatives, and now it seems unlikely that Moyes will land the job.

It isn’t ideal for Moyes to be left in the dark, but he isn’t the answer for Everton, so I’m glad that the Everton board have held off on his appointment for now.
The Toffees either need a talented and hungry manager to build a project around, or an experienced coach with bags of talent as a short-term fix. Moyes falls under neither category, so realistically he should count himself lucky to have even been considered for the job.
Sentimentality would be the only reason behind Moyes’ appointment, and for a club of Everton size and with their ambition, that isn’t an acceptable metric to judge a prospective manager with.
