Since Carlo Ancelotti was first reported to be in advanced negotiations over taking the Everton managerial position, many of his former players began to be linked with the club.
Naturally, plenty of those stories could be nothing more than lazy speculation, generated from some sense of tribal loyalism that is expected from certain players towards their coaches.
However, some of the stories might have some merit, with Ancelotti sure to bring an elevated platform to Everton, as well as a much more magnetic pull than someone of the ilk of David Moyes could hope to provide.
Everton are in desperate need of some serious reinvestment into the squad in both January and in the summer, as numerous injuries and poor individual displays have limited the amount of acceptable players available to Ancelotti.
Because of this, we’ve drummed up a list of nine players who previously featured prominently under Ancelotti at any of his former clubs, that supporters could possibly hope to see Everton sign in January or in the summer
However, and I must stress this, this list is purely speculative, and while some of these names may appear unlikely or out of Everton’s reach and/or league, be assured that I am well aware.
