Patrick Thistle defender to sign this week

Partick Thistle’s Jack Hendry could be an Everton player by the end of the week, according to John McGarry from The Scottish Daily Mail.

The 20-year old defender has been monitored by the Toffees since last year, when the Glaswegian signed for Thistle’s development squad.

Hendry made his Thistle debut last May and has only made three senior appearances for the club. However, he seems to have won over the Everton scouting team.

Hendry was due for a trial at Goodison Park, but following Frederic Frans’ red card on the opening day of the season against Hamilton, the move was cancelled, and the youngster came in to play against Scottish champions Celtic the following week.

A bid could be tabled following Thistle’s Scottish League Cup tie with Falkirk this evening, meaning Hendry will continue his rise through the ranks with a move across the border, linking up with fellow Scot Steven Naismith at Goodison Park.
