Ajax star Quincy Promes has confirmed his interest in moving to the Premier League, which may have caught Everton’s attention.
The 27-year old winger only signed for Ajax for around €15million in the summer, swapping Sevilla for Amsterdam, and he has since started the season in fine form, scoring 13 goals in 17 games for the Dutch outfit.
The Blues were interested in Promes when he was with Spartak Moscow a few years ago, and he has only grown as a player since then, while Liverpool, Arsenal and Southampton were all keen at the same time as Everton.

Following Ajax’s dramatic 4-4 draw with Chelsea in the Champions League earlier this week, Promes was asked by reports whether he’d be interested in a move to the Premier League.
As reported by Goal, Promes responded by saying:
To me, if I have a chance, maybe in the future.
While Everton would likely face a tough task in beating their rivals to Promes signature, he would be an exciting player to bring to Goodison Park if the club were still interested.

Promes would be a strong addition to Everton’s squad, but it is a deal I don’t think I could see going through.
For Promes to leave Champions League Ajax it would take European football at the very least, with Everton do not have. Not to mention that rival clubs like Liverpool and Arsenal can offer for money and are in a better place to challenge for silverware.
While it would be a great signing on paper, in reality it just isn’t realistic.
