Rangers want to take Kieran Dowell on loan

Rangers are looking to bring in reinforcements in January to help them with their push for the Scottish Premiership title and Everton’s Kieran Dowell is on their list of loan targets, according to James Nursey of the Mirror.

The 21-year-old enjoyed a successful spell at Nottingham Forest last year but has not been able to force his way into Everton’s first team this season and as such, a loan move looks to be on the cards.

Rangers manager Steven Gerrard isn’t exactly the most popular person for Evertonians but he’ll be hoping that the Blues can put former rivalries in the past and allow him to take the England U21 star on loan for the remainder of the season.

Gerrard’s Rangers side currently sit top the Scottish Premiership, although they have played one more game than Celtic, who trail them by a single point.
