Everton’s Projected Isco Bid Likely to be Accepted by Real Madrid

Real Madrid are reportedly willing to accept a potential January offer from Everton for Isco, who has been heavily linked with a switch to Merseyside, possibly on a loan basis.

An update from Sunday’s print edition of Mundo Deportivo [via SportWitness] has indicated that Los Merengues would be pleased to accept a bid in the region of €20m (approximately £18m) for the former Malaga man and Spanish international.

Having already lost Colombian playmaker James Rodriguez to Ancelotti’s side for free, Real Madrid reportedly view a deal for Isco in the region of the quoted figure as favourable in the current economic climate.

The creative Spanish playmaker has managed 51 goals and 54 assists since joining Real Madrid in 2013, making 313 appearances to date for the La Liga giants.

Previous reports have indicated a preference by the reigning Spanish champions to see their creative midfield talent leave on a permanent deal as opposed to a short-term loan.

There were also reports that Carlo Ancleotti was set to ‘campaign internally’ in order to bring Isco to Merseyside, which serves as further evidence that the 28-year-old is viewed as the Toffees’ number one priority target for the upcoming January transfer window.

There is no smoke without fire, and there appears to be a raging inferno behind this rumour.

Isco’s goal contribution record is impressive, standing at roughly a goal or assist in every three games. For less than £20m, that output could be well worth adding to Everton’s ranks.

matchday.
