Yesterday marked 32 years since the Hillsborough stadium disaster.

The incident which killed 96 Liverpool fans is remembered and mourned by fans all over the world.

Despite rivalries, this day often sees the Red and Blue sides of Liverpool remember those loved ones lost in the incident.

Yesterday was no different, with Everton forward Richarlison posting a touching tribute in memory of the 96.

The Brazilian has been know to wind up rival fans through social media, all harmless fun and games, but yesterday showed that some things are bigger than football…

Liverpool and Everton may be rivals but on days such as yesterday those feelings and that hostility is put aside.

It was great to see the footballing world come together to remember those who lost their lives on that dark day.

Considering Richarlison likely not even knowing about the incident until joining Everton, he clearly understands the magnitude of it all.

Football is such a hugely important part of all of our lives, but things such as Hillsborough bring everyone’s feet back to the ground.

The 96 are never forgotten and each year their memory and their importance towards change and reform in football live on.
