Manchester United defender Marcos Rojo is currently on his way to Everton’s USM Finch Farm training ground ahead of a permanent move, according to talkSPORT.
We covered reports earlier today that the Toffees would be exploring the possibility of signing the Argentine defender before the transfer deadline, with Marco Silva keen on finding a solution to his lack of defensive options at the club.

While earlier reports claimed that Everton were more interested in a loan offer for Rojo, with the club worried about the versatile defender’s chequered injury record, talkSPORT claim Everton are looking to complete a permanent move with a fee touted in the region of £25million.
Chelsea have refused to let either Everton target of Kurt Zouma or Fikayo Tomori go, while United have also rejected a loan offer for Chris Smalling.

£25million is steep, isn’t it? Look, I can’t really see too many positives in signing Marcos Rojo personally, and I think Everton could do better in the transfer market, especially for that sort of fee.
But needs must and the Toffees need to find a solution before Silva is forced to rely on the rapid growth of Morgan Feeney and Lewis Gibson this season.
This is the second summer in succession that Everton have been interested in Rojo, meaning Silva and Marcel Brands are evidently admirers. Hopefully the duo are correct in their assessment of the Argentina international, and the 29-year old can prove to be a valuable squad addition.
