Leon Osman often isn’t reflected upon by Everton fans in quite the light that he deserves to be.
Having made over 400 appearances for Everton over 14 seasons with the club, playing for the Toffees his entire career but for two short-term loan spells away from Goodison Park as a youngster, the former England international isn’t often valued as one of Everton’s greatest Premier League players.
However, some fans are more appreciative of the versatile midfielder’s efforts in royal blue, believing he is under-appreciated among the swathes of other former Premier League stars.

Following GrandOldTeam’s Twitter post about underrated players, asking fans who they think didn’t get the credit they deserved, a whole host of names were mentioned by Everton fans.
Diniyar Bilyaletdinov, Steven Naismith and Tony Hibbert are three of many names mentiond, but Osman is one who particularly came up a lot, with several fans keen to express their appreciation for the former club Goal of the Season winner.

@ready1878 said “Leon Osman. The most underrated of them all”.
And @cbakl said: “Definitely Osman, he was absolutely class for us”.

Ozzie was never who particularly stood out to me as ‘amazing’ or even as one of Everton’s best players, but he was still a crucial cog in Everton’s side and I wouldn’t undervalue his efforts on Merseyside.
Boyhood Evertonian Osman scored some outrageous goals in Everton colours, and he was always passionate about the club. He played well with Steven Pienaar and Tim Cahill in Everton’s attacking line behind the striker, I his versatility was an asset as he could play either side of Timmy if Pienaar wasn’t available.
He wore his heart on his sleeve and I think that counts for something extra. I loved Osman when he was at the club, and I’d definitely agree that he is underrated.
