Marco Silva has admitted he was impressed by Tom Davies’ performance against West Ham last weekend.
Many Everton fans had been calling on the Toffees boss to hand the midfielder a chance to shine, and the former Watford coach was left pleased with what he saw from the 21-year old.
With Fabian Delph and Morgan Schneiderlin now back in training, Silva will hve a raft of options ahead of this weekend’s fixture against Brighton at the Amex.

Many of Davies’ fans though will hope that Silva elects to keep faith with the England youth international and continue his partnership with Andre Gomes.
Talking to Everton’s website, Silva expressed his delight at Davies’ form, declaring that he is aware of how important a home-grown talent is to the fan base. Silva said:
It is really important to me and you know even last season what we did with Tom, giving him more responsibility in some games and being our captain.
I know how it is important for our fans to see him more. It is important to give chances to players from our Academy and it was very good to see Tom performing well.
He had a very good game, in my opinion, disciplined and understanding the moments of the game to press the opponent, when to be more in control of the position as well.
He played the second half on a yellow card (Davies was booked shortly after half-time) and he was controlled and managed that well.
I was really pleased to see how he got the chance and had a good game.

Silva’s certainly talks a good game, with the manager making sure to touch on Everton’s academy products and how they must keep coming through. However, we haven’t seen an awful lot of integration under Silva reign so far.
That being said, it is great to see Tom Davies do well, particularly considering the pressure he has looming over his head.
If he does keep his position against the Seagulls this weekend, and he should, hopefully he can continue to forge a reputation for himself as someone Silva can rely upon this season.
