Marco Silva believes that his new signings need more time to settle, while he also praised them for their performances against Lincoln on Wednesday.
Alex Iwobi scored for Everton on his full debut for the club, while Moise Kean, Fabian Delph and Djibril Sidibe also started in the line-up against The Imps.

Speaking after the game, in which Everton won 4-2, Silva claimed that while the new boys did will against the League One side they also need more time until they’ll be at their best.
As reported by FourFourTwo, Silva said:
The players making their first starts did well. We are talking about quality players.
They need time, more time to reach best physical condition, also. But they did well and for sure in the future we will see more from them.
Fabian did really, really well. It’s no surprise to me, he has the capacity to do that. Of course Alex as well did really good, Moise Kean in some moments did well also. I know Sidibe when he’s more settled in our team will help also.”
The attitude was good. But we don’t talk about just one or two players, I think we as a team did well too.

With the best of respects to Silva, I don’t think the club can afford to wait too long for the new signings to continue bedding into the club’s fabric.
Given the lack of goal threat Everton have offered in the opening Premier League fixtures, and the frailties in midfield that have been caused by JP Gbamin’s injury, the Blues need fresh recruits now.
Delph’s experience and steel will be crucial to stablising the midfield, whether that is alongside Andre Gomes or Morgan Schneiderlin. His performance against Lincoln showed that he has the capabilities to immediately improve Silva’s midfield unit, and the club can’t risk waiting for him to be fully ready if that would risk dropping points to sides that are beatable.

Likewise with Iwobi and Kean, the duo are needed to increase creativity ingenuity. Kean’s physicality and ability to read the game is far better than that of DCL’s, while Iwobi is one of the few players whose natural ability to bring other players into play can prove to be a momentum shifting element in Everton’s game.
In an ideal world, the players would be given all the time in the world to fully settle before they’re relied upon. However, if Everton have grand ambitions this season, and we’ve been led to believe they do, we need to see them playing frequently now to hurry along their progress, so that the club are firing on all cylinders once again as quickly as possible.
