Silva’s job under threat – too early for the sack?

Marco Silva‘s job is under threat as the Toffees find themselves in the bottom three.

At the start of the season, Everton were tipped to be the team that broke into the top six. This has not been the case however, and the Blues currently sit eighteenth in the dreaded relegation zone.

European football was the aim this season and with all the money spent and Silva at the helm, that wasn’t an unrealistic target.

They still have plenty of time to turn their fortunes around but with a tricky game with high flying Hammers on the horizon it looks like a long road ahead.

Does he deserve more time at the helm or should his time at Goodison Park come to an end?

Well after all the money the club has spent and the quality of the personnel, Silva has to be getting more domestic success out of his side. Failure to do that suggests Silva doesn’t have what it takes to lead Everton forward.

Of course, building a side is a long process and Silva should ultimately be given time to shape his squad around him, but football is a results business and Everton can’t squander golden opportunities to break the traditional top six.

If Silva can’t turn his fortuntes around and do is fast, then maybe it is time for Everton to seek a fresh start.

matchday.
