Everton are in need of defensive reinforcements, having failed to replace Kurt Zouma in the summer following the expiry of his loan deal from Chelsea, and Soumaoro could be a relatively cheap option to strengthen Marco Silva’s back-line.

Do we think the 27-year old’s signing would be a good move from the Blues?

I’d be all over this deal if I was Everton, providing the fee mentioned is sensible. With just three senior centre-backs at the club, the Toffees are just one injury away from disaster, with Soumaoro an easy fix for that situation.

Michael Keane and Yerry Mina seemingly have their starting spots nailed down, but further competition to challenge them can often be beneficial for all involved.
