Stones Named Supporters’ Club Player of the Year

Tuesday evening saw John Stones pick up the Everton Supporters’ Club Player of the Year award at an end of season event held at Goodison Park.

The 20-year-old centre-half has impressed in his 22 league games this season, putting in a number of very solid displays, in addition to scoring his first Premier league goal in the Toffees 3-0 victory over Manchester United last month.

Having established himself in Roberto Martinez’s side- earning 4 England caps in the process- he has drawn interest from high spending Manchester City and Chelsea in recent months.

Although Everton are in no pressing need to sell the talented youngster, there are believed to be bids in excess of £20 million coming their way over the summer and this would represent a significant profit on the £3 million paid by the club to Barnsley in 2013 for the player.
