Theo Walcott aiming for top-four finish at Everton

Theo Walcott has explained that Everton are aiming to break into the top four under Marco Silva.

Speaking to Everton TV, as reported by the Liverpool Echo, Walcott has revealed that the Toffees want to bring Champions League football to Goodison Park and he is confident that they can do just that.

After a long career with Arsenal, Walcott is no stranger to Champions League football and he is hoping for a return to the competition.

Me personally I’m hoping for a top-four finish, I really am. I’ve set my goals really high. You need to be realistic as well and think maybe that’s a bit too far-fetched, but I think sixth is reachable.

We just have to start turning those draws into wins, it’s as simple as that. We’re not far off, I really don’t think we are. I think you can judge us fairly when everyone is back fit.

Everton have always maintained European ambitious, but have been forced to deal with Europa League football for the most part.

The Toffees have endured a mixed start under Silva, winning three from eight, but have started to show signs that things are beginning to click under the Portuguese boss.

Everton have won back-to-back games in the Premier League, games against Fulham and Leicester, but they’ll need to continue that form if they want to stand a chance of breaking into the top four.
