Toffees eyeing second Juventus midfielder

With Everton already keen on Juventus’ Mario Lemina, Ronald Koeman is also tempted by fellow midfielder Stefano Sturaro, reports Calciomercato.

The 24-year-old has made 27 appearances for Bianconeri this season, and The Toffees are loking to snap him up, further adding to their squad after the recent arrivals of Jordan Pickford from Sunderland, and Davy Klaassen from Ajax.

Reports in Italy are saying that the former Genoa star is not for sale, with Juventus preferring to offload Gabon midfielder Mario Lemina instead. The Italian champions are lining up Sevilla’s Steven N’Zonzi to replace Lemina, and selling Sturaro is not within the club’s best interests.

Sturaro has been previously linked with a move to the Premier League, with Southampton keen to bring the Italian to the top-flight last summer – when Ronald Koeman was still manager on the South Coast.

Now at Everton, Koeman is hoping to lure Sturaro to England, to strengthen his midfield options, as The Toffees prepare for next season.
