Tottenham to move for Barkley to boost top four chances

Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino is ready to move for Everton’s Ross Barkley in January to boost the club’s top four chances.

The Express reports that Pochettino will sanction a double swoop for both Barkley and Manchester United’s Luke Shaw in the new year.

Spurs would have been hoping to challenge for the title this season but have struggled to keep up with the likes of Manchester City and Manchester United.

Both Spurs and Chelsea were heavily linked with Barkley throughout the summer, but the midfielder remained with the club.

Reports suggested that Barkley travelled to Chelsea to undergo a medical before changing his mind during the process.

The England international is yet to feature for Everton this season as he continues his recovery.

Despite his injury, interest in Barkley has not dwindled. The 24-year-old featured in a behind-closed-doors friendly last week as he works his way back to full fitness.
