David Unsworth has confirmed that Harry Charsley has been released by Everton, as reported by the Liverpool Echo.
The 23-year old wide player was released in the summer at the end of his contract, although after suffering a freak back injury, the club offered him a six-month deal to rebuild his fitness.

Having made 14 appearances for Unsworth’s Under-23s side this season, Charsley has now been released at the end of his short-term deal.
Talking to the Echo following Everton Under-23s’ 3-3 draw with Arsenal Under-23s on Monday, Unsworth confirmed the news, saying:
Harry has been released.
His deal was only until January and we were trying to help him out because we had a small squad this year.
He got injured on our watch so we felt we had an obligation and we felt we had to do the right thing by offering him a six-month contract which we duly did and obviously got him fit over pre-season and got him a few games and profile in the shop window.
And now that’s a matter for Harry to carve himself a career hopefully at the highest level possible for him.

This situation only goes to further exemplify how Everton are a club that looks out for its own. Firstly with re-signing Jose Baxter in order to get his career back on track following his drug ban, and then by helping Charsley be in the most optimum position to find another club.
Everton may have not always be the best side on the pitch, and they may not always communicate with their fans in the best way, but they also seem to show why they’re such a special club whenever fans begin to doubt them.
Hopefully Charsley has been able to strike up a small amount of form while playing for the Under-23s, so that he can move on to a regular senior role in whichever club picks him up.
