David Unsworth and John Ebbrell are in line to manage Everton when they take on Chelsea in the Carabao Cup this week, according to Paul Joyce.

The news comes following the confirmation that the club have decided to part company with Ronald Koeman.
The Dutchman was relieved of his duties after seeing his Everton side suffer a woeful start to the season, which has left them in the relegation zone of the Premier League, and without a win in the Europa League group stages.

Unsworth is currently in charge of Everton’s Under-23 side, and has worked well with the club’s youngsters, developing them further and offering them a pathway into the senior side.
Ebbrell is Unsworth’s assistant manager with the Under-23s, and has also helped to nurture the club’s young guns.
A win against Chelsea will see Everton secure a place in the quarter finals of the competition.
